Evening Optimist Calendar of Events
The Evening Optimist Club of Sumter is a very active club with over 25 projects annually, bi-weekly meetings, monthly board meetings, and lots of special events. We pride ourselves on putting Kids First in all we do.
Highlights
- Annual Cycles for Christmas
This Years Event is scheduled for Saturday - December 16th, 2017 at the Westisde Baptist Church Gym
Our Optimist Club gives Bicycles away to needy Kids every year on the Saturday before Christmas!
We feed the family breakfast, give bicycles away to over 200 kids in our community, visit with Santa, and provide Helmets and Safety tips compliments of The Sumter Safe Kids Program. Truly a wonderful project for our club and our community. - Youth Appreciation Banquet
Recognize outstanding achievements in young people in Sumter County
Our Crown Jewel of events. We honor Boys and Girls from every school that achieve the highest in standards like grades, community outreach, giving of oneself to support others, athletics, integrity, leader qualities, and we could go on.

- Annual Optimist Christmas Parade
December 3rd - 2pm - Downtown Sumter, SC. Well over 100 entries, Apx. 2000 participants, and Apx. 10000 spectators.. Truly a memorable event for the entire family
